Changing shocks and springs scares the hell out of me. I once changed the dampers on my old Fulvia but that had leaf springs so wasn't complicated at all ( once I asked a semi pro how to do it, including preloading the suspension before tightening bolts up!)
I'd love to be able to have a go at it with spring compressors, but I value my hands too much not to spend a few hundred quid on having a pro do it. Plus side of doing it yourself would be to really get the suspension dialed in to your own preferences, even if it meant spending money on a few different shock/spring set ups you'd save a packet on labour and could sell the unwanted kit on pretty easily.
Kahn, did u just jack the car up on the drive or did you have access to a platform?
It'd be nice if someone where to put a simple guide up, with a massive disclaimer of course.
