Timing belt kit - JTD 16v CF3
I am preparing to have the cambelt, tensioners and water pump changed on on my 1.9 JTD GT, probably over the Christmas holidays when I can afford to be without it for a day or two. The car has only covered 32,000 miles but is about to celebrate its sixth birthday, and knowing of a relative's recent experience with an old but low mileage VW Polo breaking its age-hardened belt I am thinking it is still a sensible precaution to take.
I am also aware that Alfa reduced the recommended interval for change from 75,000 to 45,000 for this particular engine, but I also think that there is a bit of 'cross contamination' of information within this forum because of the fragility of the timing system on the TS petrol engines and the water pump issues on the V6, so it probably isn't the pressing essential some people say.
Anyway, having cleared up the confusion as to whether my car is CF3 or CF4 I am looking for some advice as to the best place to buy the kit from. Some suppliers don't distinguish between CF3 and CF4, and it would appear that some can't even determine between the 8v and 16v variants of the engine.
