Hi again to all interested parties,
Have bled brakes again all round, no air coming out, just fluid.
No ABS error light on.
Its a weird fault! Have done servo test according to info found on net.
Hard pedal with engine off, Goes down when engine started. If engine switched off, pedal comes back up with each press of pedal, Indicating good air tightness of Servo.
Passes Air tightness under load test--- "press pedal when engine is running, then stop engine and wait for 30 seconds. If pedal position does not change, Servo is ok"
But I have jacked 1 wheel off the deck so I can run FES to see if abs functions when pedal pressed, not conclusive, as I recon abs ecu is clever enough to work out that as only 1 wheel is turning, and no g force, car is not moving.Anyway FES comes out of abs test mode at 15 kph. And if I have slight brake pedal pressure when car is in gear and 1 wheel rotating, as soon as slight throttle applied, Brake pedal sinks down to unsafe level.
Exactley like it does if I drive it on road. Sitting in the car at rest you would think the brakes were all ok, but if I drive 30yards/metres and then apply brakes, very low pedal.
Anybody who fixes Alfas for a living ever come across this, or am I the only person who has had the misfortune to have this.
Al sensible surgestions appreciated.
