MOT Failure

My 156 Selespeed (V reg, 1999) failed its MOT today due to excessive CO emissions (9.0% vs. 0.3%) and due to a worn out front ball joint - my specialist told me the former may be due to a lambda sensor failure.

Does anyone know how much these parts/labour would cost to sort it out?

Anyway, it certainly explains the sub-20mpg fuel consumption ...

Re: MOT Failure

Lambda is around 80 from a dealer, fitting probably about an hours labour at a guess.

Is the thermostat ok as that could also affect the consumption.

EBSPares sell lower arms for about 70 and you'll need a couple of hours labour ... if the people you choose have done it before. But it one's gone, the other will follow soon.

Re: MOT Failure

changing a lambda sensor shouldn't take too long but they will charge at least one hour to do it @ 60 per hour.
