Use a cordless chicago pneumatics impact wrench CP8745. but two sheared nuts were for 'transmission tunnel' protective cover. and then went to remove rear engine mount bolts and snap!
The next nut was supposed to be captive!!! see pics:
That 'captive' rear subframe bolt thingy is doing my head in! Went to dealer and couldn't find on eper, have also noticed have same on 147, but nothing. closest i get is item 14, but just a reinforcement plate without bolts.
The Impact wrench manages 325Nm, so that wasn't the problem. And yes had dosed in WD-40, gave it a whack to shock threads, and applied head to expand/contract and release. As expected on some cars.
That was also why i left steering rack on subframe, wasn't able to remove one of the bolts! so worked around it.
The bolts on the gearbox engine that i removed the heads of, worried me, so thought i'd rather get replacements than damage bellhousing and/or block! they are M12X65 1.25 & M8x70 1.25 so fine pitch high tensile.
Any help sourcing that captive bolts 'U' assembly would be greatly appreciated. Have contacted Autolusso and WAD Auto Developments. Can get bolts off ebay or pop down road to Wolverhampton's Bolts UK.
Thanks all for the advice.
Yes only use 6-siders and my 1.5m breaker bar did just that to the rear engine mount!!
