After several months of rattle free motoring, the GT has started back with a constant rattle coming from the rear.
I have adjusted the dampers on the hatch to see if this sorts it, no good, same noise in any position.
I have drowned all the moving, and many non-moving, parts in silcone spray. Still rattles.
Over anything but perfect road surfaces, so 95% of the time, I get a constant fidgety rattle coming from the rear. I have checked and padded the tools, the spare wheel, the folding floor of the boot and still it rattles.
I think it is coming from the actual hatch itself, maybe a loose fixing or some such. So I am planning on stripping the cover off and looking at all the components in there.
There was a similar noise from a Saab estate I had and it was an actuator rod from the central locking mechanism that had worked loose and was rattling against the metal work. A very similar noise to the one in the GT.
Any other ideas before I strip the car down completely.......
