Hasn't been even 5 days since I bought my 156 and I'm already here
God I have been missing this forum the last 6 years of being carless and alfaless..but here I am again.
So car is 156 2.0 TS 16v 98 model with 280tkm. And problems are;
The diesel sound at start up is continuing even though I have had all belts changed and everything else that has been recommended here in the forum.
Also I have the problem with the idleness playing up and down. It basically goes from 900-1500rpms whether the car is warm or cold. Again I read how to fix this, but I'm a bit scared to open up valves and oil them up. But could this be the reason for the diesel sounding as well?They say its a 10min job but some of the parts I don't know how to find or how they look, in this case the "butterfly valve".
The drivers door does insane cracking, and the problem is from the metal thing that holds it (see picture attached, its the rusty one in the middle). When the door moves it seems to click out of place and do a horrible sound. I have oiled it and god knows what else but it doesn't work.
Do you think I need a whole new metal thingy or can I somehow repair it easily,? I noticed the passenger door has the bolts a bit loose on the same thingy, I will tighten them tonight but has this been done for a reason?
Last issue for now is the fuses, does someone know roughly which fuse is for which light/gauge? Currently these gauges do not have light (yet work perfectly) - gas and motor temperature in the middle as well as the heating and placement of heating knobs. Is it due to fuses (as I can't seem to open the goddamn fuse box for 2 days in a row now) or is it due to the lights just dying? If its a lights issue I wont even bother with the fuse box.
Thats all for now and thanks for the replies!
