Gearbox oil 2.4 change
I thought I'd change the gearbox oil as I have 143k on the clock. My previous car was a V70 T5 with 150k and when I changed the gearbox oil on that the colour when drained was black. It ran a lot smoother since it was changed though, as if it had found a bit more power !
Same with the jtd as it was simple enough to do, but I only managed to drain 1 ltr out though. Admittedly my garage is on a slope and so the front of the car is raised and I didn't need to jack it up to get to the allen bot underneath and since my undertray has never been present, there is no problem accessing it.
The gearbox should take 2 ltrs and since only 1 ltr came out the question I have is did I leave in 1 ltr of old oil and topped up with new OR did only 1 ltr come out because only 1 ltr was in ?
There were no symptoms of low oil, no whining or difficult gearchanges or excess temperatures.
Tempted to repeat the exercise but with the car facing the opposite direction to be sure.
Any other suggestions... ?
