Just reviving this thread to let everyone know my 20v is back in the land of the living after its turbo issues, and just to celebrate the de-cat front pipe is now fitted.
Must admit I'm quite nervous driving the car, waiting for the turbo to explode; I do know what a failing turbo sounds like I can assure you.
So far its done 30 miles since the turbo was fitted and all seems well. The failed new turbo has been returned and despite what was said by their supplier, Midland Turbo said it could be reconditioned, they even offered to do this at a reduced price. Am I suspicious, you tell me!!
So I've got a lightly used (10 miles) turbo for a 20v sitting here and I'm wondering what to do with it; £744 new - how much on ebay - suitable for a re-build?
Fingers crossed now, the engine sounds great, "tough" if that makes sense, and seems to pull much better with the front de-cat pipe.
Next the MoT!
