I have had a whole new clutch fitted (slave cylinder, plates etc) as my clutch packed up a couple of months back now. The original fault was a leak in the damper (cylinder) between the master and slave cylinder, though the dealer did not find this out until replacing the whole clutch piece by piece as a process of illimination. Since it is been TLC'd, the clutch has NEVER been right since it went wrong - my master cylinder sqweeks (LOUDLY) all the time (been back twice and not rectified), the clutch pedal clicks on a long journey (i.e you push it half way down it stops little and then the pedal will click and it will then go down fully to the bulkhead). Also the pedal has a variation of pressure from time to time - sometimes very very light to being normal (heavy ish).
However, going back to your problem, I also have an IDENTICAL problem. My one judders badly and the dealer denies there is a problem, although it is irregular. My clutch used to be fine before and despite me giving allowences for tollerences and the fact a dealer has fitted it (not a factory), I strongly think my clutch is buggered. It judders upon slowly lifting of the clutch in traffic. If you are in second gear, creeping off slowly (not standstill) and slipping the clutch, it is incredibly uncomfortable feeling the judder through the body, dash and seat etc. The problem I have is the gearbox and clutch have been out more times than a rally car
(well 4 actually) and they are not designed to be taken out this many times.
Someone may well mention to you, like they did to me that the clutch plates have a film on them and it takes a while for it to come off to stop juddering. Unfortunatly after 3k miles (including towing after about 1,500) it is still as bad as it was when I picked it up from the dealer.
I have to be honest I am deeply upset about this as it is otherwise a very made 147 and it just takes the biscuit when after 4 weeks of tinckering by the dealer the end result is not like it should be, when the car went in
expecially after paying £18k)
Keep me informed on you progress, as I will as it seems we have something very much in common
I just cannot believe at how something so simple cannot be fixed properly.....
