Still think you are barking up the wrong tree mate... sorry!
Experience tells me mate that using jump leads will not suffice... There is only so much current you can transfer at any given time through them, thus you are still getting the same click...Been there, tried that.... Cranking amps needs to be stored, not transfered.... My brother in law found this out when we tried to start his 2.4 JTD with jumper cables on a Citroen 2.0 HDi... After 30 minutes, nothing , just the click... I removed my battery and swapped it with his.... Started first time!
Like I said, the only safe way to make sure is swap the battery of similar Amp/Hr rate
Please bear in mind here that I am not saying it is definately the battery and not the starter motor... It's just that I want to actually save your money and not spend it for you.... I would hate it if a fellow Alfisti had to chew on replacing a starter motor when a simple battery swap over could possibly avert it.
