156 indicator flasher unit/relay
Hello all you Alfa maniacs, has anybody ever tried to replace the indicator flasher unit/relay on the 156?
I was told by Alfa techies that is was a simple task that required you to just remove the casing from the steering column and then, hey presto..... yeh if only.
3 hours later after having to strip the steering wheel, the clock spring and the steering wheel angle sensor, I successfully found and replaced the stupidly located relay (that could simply be situated near the other 2 relays near the fuse board) and then having felt very proud of myself for all of 35 seconds until, yes you guessed it, I heard that lovely beep and warning came up on the dash - VDC SYSTEM FALIURE.
Well what a nightmare it has been since then (over a week) and the motor is still having ABS problems.
to my knowledge and trained eye, I have successfully placed everything back into place (well about 4 times after checking and re- checking)
I have had a techie with his Bosch look at it and a steering calibration error of some sort popped up, they tried to calibrate but with no luck as even the movement of the wheel did not register on his Bosch, will only the Alfa Diagnostics correct this or is the sensor or clock spring broken?????
