Normally I post 'humorous' replies but here's a recent observation from experience:
Yesterday, wanting to make the most of a glorious Autumn day, I thought I'd take the dogs to the beach for a run around, now that its October and us dog owners are no longer considered a greater pollutant than Chernobyl on meltdown, so we can go back on the beaches.
I didnt want to take the gf's Fiesta (it's metallic pink..1.25 engine and above all, its a Fiesta) so the GT it was. We have two greyhounds and having not been on a long journey with them in it, they normally sit in the back seat. However this was an hour and a half each way drive, and sand would be involved..
So, rear seat dropped, parcel shelf removed and boot floor protected (gf's coat did a wonderful job) and off we go. No problems, two large dogs both crashed out with space to spare. I get the benefit of driving the GT on motorway and beach side roads, they get space to sleep in and the gf gets to not moan at me for buying an 'impractical car'.
To think, i actually had an estate volvo just for the dogs before the GT. No need!
Only downside? I now have to clean 3 hours of dog dribble from the outside of the car..
GT now stands for Greyhound Transporter.
