156 2.4 jtdm down on power
Hi all, driving home last night on the motorway and pulled out to overtake a lorry and had very little throttle response and a big lack of power. I've been having problems with my upper turbo hose which is split but under temporary repair at the moment for the last few months but that seems to have held fine. Have checked all other hoses all are tight with no visible splits. No warning lights came on the dash but it was sort of in a limp home mode and plodded along. When i turned it off it seemed the whole car shook on shutdown making me think it was an exhaust problem. Had a similar lack of power on my Fiat coupe where the cat had crumbled and blocked the pipe so went to take it to the garage this morning and it seems to have cleared itself after around 1 mile of driving, it did start off lumpy but then ran fine, any ideas guys? Fuel consumption is fine aswel got nearly 72 mpg on the readout on last tank, no loud whistles, no excessive smoke, i do a lot of motorway driving though and usually sit behind the nearest lorry to get the mpg up but always give it a good blast out every now and then.
Any help would be appreciated
