how hot should a 8v jtd get?

Just driven for 4 hrs in the 156, noticed that as I got further south (from derby) and onto the m25 that the water temp crept over 90 to the next mark at times. This was generally when traveling at 75 -80mph and the outside was around 83f, this went up/down when driving and went below 90 when traveling at 50mph. Is this normal? Or does it need a new state or Rad? Cheers

Probably needs a new rad.
Have a look, I expect the little zig-zag fins between the water channels are starting to corrode and block air flow.

Close to 90degC is the ideal temp.

just to confirm my 147 JTD 8v climbs steadily to 90 then sits there permanently, no movement at all above or below

cheers, checked the Rad and the fins are falling out, I'll look at buying and fitting a new one at the end of the week. I'm starting to feel this alas gonna be a pain in the are.

Sounds like it's the problem to me. 156 rads seem to do about 5-8 years from what I've seen although JTD 16v one on mine is still going strong
