I Replaced my Teledials and now the Front Left Wheel makes a Knocking sound?!
The 16" Teledials on my 156 were looking a little tatty and the tyres were illegal so to save money I found a set of good condition Teledials on Ebay with mint tyres already on them.
Took the old ones off with out too much difficulty, and fitted the new ones again without much difficulty.
These are exactly the same alloys as the ones I removed and exactly the same size tyres too, however when I get above 30mph i can here and feel the front left wheel knocking.
I have felt around the wheel and there appears to be nothing touching so I am a little unsure what it is. Obviously it is a bit worrying, the wheels are on tight bolts all torqued properly.
Could it be a tracking issue? These new wheels have various different weights in them from the previous car.
Another thought I had is the set of wheel nuts I bought for them were fractionally longer and the taper sat slightly deeper in to the wheel. It seemed to take a bit more time to do up the nuts on the front wheels than rear which surprised me. Could they be sitting a bit to far in or through the hub and catching on something? I would have expected to hear knocking both sides if so.
Any ideas are very much appreciated!
