Exhaust diameter concerns
Just taken delivery of two new front pipes for the v6. The front bank pipe is a long Y shaped piece that connects to the cat or in my case de cat silencer. It also has the hole for the lambda sensor. The rear bank pipe is only about 12-14 inches long and connects into the front bank pipe. All in they were £125 delivered to Jersey.
My concern is this. The original items to be removed from the car are considerably larger in diameter thatn the ones I have been sent. There are not original alfa items but this type of product seldom are....... Unles you fancy getting your pants pulled down buying one direct from Alfa.
I think the original exhausts have a diameter of 65mm whereas the ones I have just bought are only 50mm. My father seems to think this wont make any difference to performance etc but I'm not so sure. Wont this slow down the exhaust gasses leaving the engine and reduce performance?
Any help from anyone in the know would be greatly appreciated.
Owning an Alfa is not a matter of life or death...... It's much more important than that.
