I love alfa's to the way they drive the way they look. And my Gt is one of the best cars i have ever owned. But am tired of the ******** i hear on this forum about how equal they are in the reliability stakes compared to other brands. They are not!! i hope some day they will be!
This does not mean they are not brilliant machines! but they take a fair amount of pampering! I wish you the best, enjoy your rest and hope to see you back in an alfa soon. Rant over.
Grrrr, talk like this makes my choice even harder! I will be in the market for a diesel pretty soon [around £10k] and I've been researching into all options for a while now. As it seems all modern diesels have issues, I figured I'd look to buy from a franchised dealer which will hopefully give me peace of mind should anything to wrong.
The point of buying a diesel is to reduce my monthly fuel costs, so, if I buy privately and something brakes, costing me dosh, my plan fails!
Anyway, I still want something interesting, though at the same time I MUST be kind of sensible - I keep telling myself a GT/147 can be the sensible choice [as long as I can do 50mpg on the motorway I'm happy]!
My other top options are; E46 BMW 320d coupe, Renaultsport Megane 175 or a Seat Ibiza Cupra TDi - it seems all these cars are like gold dust within the franchised dealers!
I keep seeing GT's about though and fall in love with the looks every time!
