Hi all, never posted this problem here but I'm getting quite desperate here..
a year and a half ago I got my aircon fixed only to find out that my carpet was soaking wet after 4 weeks..
I found out that the drain pipe of the airco system (behind the center console, into the engine compartment) could be blocked with the rubber shielding and firewall dampning.
So I cut out my piece of carpet (Left hand drive as I'm Dutch) let it dry, cut open the rubber flap blocking the pipe and carried on.
one year later (now 8 weeks ago), same problem, much wetter!
So this time no risks: I cut away the sound dampning material and rubber flap completely arround the drain pipe, let the complete interior dry (took me 5 freaking days...) and put 2 spray cans of Tectyl on the inside of the floor (there is still no rust to be found!
Now, 8 weeks later, again wet.. driving me mad
The only thing I can find is that it's getting wet from behind the foam between the heater radiator and firewall.
Sides of the foam are dry, bottom is soaking and leaking into the interior.
The drain pipe seems to be open (even poked arround with some wire to ensure it's not internally blocked) and drips condens as the airco works: it's not much but also nog completely blocked.
Where do I start looking? does someone has a real good tip or tric for me??
Thank you in advance!
With kind regards,
