GT 1.9JTD 150 clutch

my mate has got an Alfa GT 1.9JTD 150 & needs the clutch replacing. I've done all sorts of jobs on cars, suspension, brakes, steering parts etc but have never done a clutch.

He's asked if i'd do it for him so was wondering how difficult a job it is. Most cars i've had i get a Haynes manual for them but there doesn't seem to be a Haynes for the GT, or most other modern Alfas for that matter

any help/advice is appreciated

Not much help I'm afraid. All I know is that it is difficult. I think you have to drop the forward subframe.

Might be okay if you have use of a ramp tho.

Phone a dealer and ask how much they charge. Will give an idea of how long it takes with all the right tools. I suspect around 5 hours.

I,ve done mine on my driveway.

The subframe doesn't have to be removed, but it still a pig of a job, as there is all sorts of stuff that has to be removed to access all the gearbox bolts; battery, fuse box, airfilter box (that isn't as easy as it sounds ), starter motor, gearbox mount .........................

Then you've got to align the splines on the input shaft putting it back together

I wouldn't want to do it again!
