Idle whilst rolling

Could someone explain the phenomenon or solve the problem of why the idle is varying and hunting whilst the car is rolling no gear in(Free) whilst at a dead stop the idle is rock solid? I have mentioned this before but maybe there is a good explanation to tis phenomenon. Why should the ecu be playing around when rolling. Throttle body has been cleaned countless times, ecu reset via computer, idle actuator changed, MAF is good, lambda sensor never touched (??) full service with new variator and plugs, car has done 48K miles. The only thing i still have left to do is a remap. Cheers guys
