Hi all... well my 156 is back on the drive, some one reversed into my wallet and left a dent though, but hey ho... the cars back to normal... that sound on my video has gone, so its 'fixed'. Hopefully wont be needing to recon my turbo ever again.
Adrien at WAD spent 10mins explaining the turbo and the 'bearings' and how they 'can' collapse, usually after the owner turns off the engine before letting it tick over to allow for the oil feed to carry on a little... if this isnt done then the turbo keeps spinning with out its oil feed there fore causing friction which leads onto the collapse of the bearing. (Same goes for starting the engine, and taking off before letting it tick over a little) (and yes yes yes i have heard this before so a little lesson learnt also) Adrien apologised for the state of the tyres on the 147 courtesy car... (and refunded the new tyre cost) so i guess all in all i cant complain.
Sparepart... cheers for pointing out NJ's they are only round the corner from me, 2 miles or so... Alfaracer97 ill be popping down to see you.
I give WAD their due, they know what they're talking about and i cant fault their work... prices bit high for my liking and customer service could be better and then theirs the distance from me... i might go back but... alfaracer97 is too close to miss, so will be having a new customer very soon, new thermostat as mine is stuck open and with a service would go down nicely.
Ive toyed with taking it to Enzo at Autocassa in Coventry as i do work for an ambulance firm over that way sometimes. Im guessing there are lots of good Indies out there, its just about finding the right one for you and seeing how long our love for these bellas can outway our love of getting them fixed everytime something goes wrong. I try, and do enjoy to do more n more work on it myself, and enjoy being able to help someone else out on this site no matter how trivial a question, but have to say... thanks to all you lot on here, ive actually gotten to know and do more on my Alfas... so cheers!
Well the suns out a bit...and i think my 156 TI... important that 'TI' bit lol is in need of a wash... so... smell ya later, no doubt my mother will want her polo doing too... lol... NEXT.....!
