Sorry for the delay... things hectic around here. Its the 10v version 140bhp. Mileage is 172k but the engine is giving no signs of giving up which is a plus
My question is why were they replaced in the first time ?
Im assuming you mean why were the joints replaced? if yes then because back in July i hit a pretty big pothole and the car started to have knocking noises whilst moving at then got worse by tugging the steering wheel which rendered it undrivable (this occured in the space of a few mins) took it to the "joker" and he told me that the joint was knackered. So i bought the new part and the problem went. Then a few weeks later i developed a clicking noise on the other side, brought it back and was told that the inner joint was gone. Whilst it was in there i was told the outer one was gone too. So i bought the parts and job done. Clicking gone but as soon as i left the place it started vibrating as soon as i took off and whilst accelerating. Took it this time to another mechanic who said my wheel bearing is failing and that they couldnt see anything else wrong. As i had a spare outer joint i asked them to replace as a precaution. It didnt cure the vibrations at all. They took a look at it again and one the workers said it looks like the "ring" or something inside the gearbox are gone and that i would need a new gearbox. The boss told me not to bother as it will only vibrate. I dont for one second believe its the gearbox or anything connected with it as it NEVER did it before and the gears dont seem like they are failing to me, no clonking noises, its not popping out of gear and handles anything i throw at it. So im back to thinking that the only joint that wasnt replaced is failing or that the wheel bearing may be the issue as ive read that this can cause vibrations.
It's time to go to the "mechanic", shut the door behind you and explain a few things........
Ive got a hitman on his way to him as we speak......
that the tyres are not bulged or worn unevenly.
Interesting that you should say that, When i had the upper wishbones done a few weeks back (i havent been able to afford food since June
) i noticed that the inner parts of the two front wheels seemed a bit weird.... if thats a good way to describe it, they dont look very good but to cause such vibrations from a standing start?
