VDC is trying to kill me...

Every once in a while the VDC will cut in unnecessarily when the car is completely under control and I'm driving quite slowly. Usually it's on tight left handers but this could just be a coincidence.

It did it once or twice when the car was new but now, 3 years on, it seems to be happening more often. Anyone else experience this? Maybe one of the sensors is on it's way out? BTW, the suspension hasn't been lowered or anything like that.

Re: VDC is trying to kill me...

I think you have answered your own question... that it is the sensor. Don't know if you can avoid a garage visit to determine it for sure and maybe someone here can shed light on that

Thumbs Up Re: VDC is trying to kill me...

Yes I had the same problem a year ago or so.

If its not your sensors best bet is to get a wheel alignment & balance that should fix it up!

After I did my balance and alignment never happened again!

Re: VDC is trying to kill me...

Same thing happens to me when cornering (not very often thow). The car has lots of grip (225 tires) and suddenly the VDC kicks in. I think it's because the car is lowered althow a proper wheel alignment was done.

And a 10 point question ...
Which fuse i have to pull out to deactivate the VDC ? ... not for every day use, only when i take my car to a track or i want to play in the snow
