156 2.0 Rich mixture and poor MPG
Just drove 2,900 km from Moscow to Lausanne with 156 2.0TS (CF3) and here is what I understood:
My MPG seems to be pretty poor. Surely 99% of the trip was on highways, however, I had a consumption of 9,5 l per 100km (30 imperial MPG is that). Tire pressure is 2.2 atm (33 PSI), no stuck brake pistons, no ECU errors (checked with FES), no nothing. Well, I drove 80-90 mph mostly with only some sections of 110-120 mph in Germany, but not for long.
With that, I expected 35-37 mpg at least. Was I wrong?
Secondly, I beleive the mixture is rich as there's strong petrol scent going from the pipe. Stronger than a catted car should have.
Can Lambdas fail without a warning on dash/in FES, and so cause both poor MPG and rich mix?
