Not starting when hot
Been a good long while since I've posted here but it's great to be back.
Here's my problem. The old girl refuses to start if my temperature guage goes over the halfway point. It doesn't overheat as such. The fan kicks in when it should and brings the needle back to just under halfway on the guage and it runs fine. However if i turn the engine off it wont start untill the needle has dropped down to at least a qurter.
Im not entirely sure it is the temperature though. I only use that as an indicator of when to try starting it again. Could it be pressure??
It's very embarassing when I put petrol in it and Im left stranded at the pumps.
PS. The engine turns over just fine but it just wont fire up........ sometimes takes up to half an hour and then it'll just start normally and drive fine???????
Owning an Alfa is not a matter of life or death...... It's much more important than that.
