OK - not the immobiliser at fault, then.....one of the smaller red relays in front of the battery controls the glow plugs, IIRC. Just thinking - you say a yellow light on the right flashes briefly - that could be the glow plug warning light...though come to think of it the glow plug warning light is in the speedo - which in Uk cars is the left-hand dial.....so is this coming on? - normally for about 3-4 seconds, from memory.....
I guess if not, disconnect the feed to the glow plugs and substitute a direct feed jumper wire for a few seconds then try cranking - they are usually a virtually instant starter.
