if things get really tough, yet still has pretty good performance when you're more flush.
In these uncertain times it's good to have that flexibility.
This. My usual style is to go like my pants are on fire half the time and the rest of the time I drive economically. My average is 6.6 litres / 100 km, which equates to 43 MPG. If I were economically-minded the whole time, I could easily get 60 MPG, IMO. Even if you really push this car, it's never gonna bankrupt you like a petrol.
