Just an update. Removing it was quite simple once I got the hang of it. The plastic ring around the tube should be pulled upwards, as they have catches on both sides of the diameter.
The nightmare however was plugging it back! I tried and tried for almost an hour and still, the blasted thing wouldn't slide back in. I thought for a moment, thats it, I'd have to see my mechanic in the morning to get it done
...decided to check what the consequences were....for starters, nothing on the door worked, ie, alarm activating didn't lock it, no windows and of course no sound
!!! Started her up and the whole display was blinking on and off - like there was some major system malfunction
....then, I tried again and like a page out of a fairy tale, just as I was about to give up, it miraculously slid back on
Its all been sorted now, but I'm never gonna remove it again!! Not until my fingers stop shivering anyways!!!
