Mine went, similar problem to as you describe.

Went to EuroCarparts, think it cost about 30-35. Has worked great for last 4 months. Very easy to fit although hard getting your hand in some places. Plus you can return faulty items from them!

yes the part i got yesterday fro jim barrows motor factor said if i had any probs just bring it back was only 30 well if he dosent sort it out il be sure to post his company name up yes was easier than i thought i went from under neath tho my car hasnt got the plastic cover on it anymore the previous owner said it got pulled off when he got stuck on a beach so just disconected the exhaust manifold and a bracket and slipped my fat hand in there job done
