shd u buy a V6? does the sun rise in the east?!
V6 is unreliable is a fallacy! if anything else, the engine is even more reliable than the TS (sorry all u TS folks!
). there's no variator problems on the V6, it doesnt have balance shaft issues, and its not prone to engine damage due to oil starvation (2.0TS particularly sensitive). also the V6 seems to be less prone to snapped timing belts as compared to the TS. this doesnt mean that u can squeeze that extra 10000kms before u change! just bear in mind that if the belt does go, thats 24 valves u have to replace!!
both the V6 transmissions - 6-speed manual and 4-speed q-system (auto) - are also bulletproof. i've tracked my q-system and taken it on hill runs and its not given me any probs.
items that are of concern in the V6 are the front suspension rubber bits which seem to wear a little quicker than the TS due to more weight upfront. the V6 also goes thru tires and brakes quicker, presumably due to more weight as well.
both V6 and TS engines have no overheating problems. sure if ur thermostat or radiator or waterpump is knackered its gonna overheat, but that applies to all cars.
but like firebird said, u just gotta drive a V6 to know what the experience is all about. impossible to put into words...
