you need some copper grease beetween the pads (obviously not on the side that touchs the disc) that will stop the squeeling

I just did it on mine! They were screaming like banshees, but more on 'light press' of the pedal. Heavy breaking it was ok.

Anyway, yeah..someone else gave me some great tips in another thread-

Take wheel off. Take the 2 pads out of the caliper. Clean them off with brake cleaner, front and back, and clear out the area where they sit as much as possible. If edge of the disc is rusty, use the brake cleaner and wire wool and give it a scrub. I had loads of rusted metal there. Then, get some copper slip, copper ease stuff and put it on the back of the pad, and the edge of the pad. But NOT the friction surface obviously. Then put it all back together, and 99% of it was gone for me. A tiny squeak, but found it had Ferodo pads on, so think it's to be expected a bit of noise. Good luck! It's worth it : )

I once walked in to the workshop on someone who hadn't been working there long, but had decided to coat the entire disk in copper grease. He was just putting the caliper on when we saw it.

He wasn't allowed to touch brakes for a while.

My rears have been squealing for a while now. Everytime after putting the brakes on it did it. Just touch the brake pedal and it would go, release and it would be back. You could tell they were binding because the wheels were quite warm to the touch after even a short journey, just as warm as the fronts in fact. Anyway Simplyalfas put new discs and pads on and all is right in the world again!
