Radiator Doesn't switch off
Hi all. My Alfa 156 v6 is causing me yet more problems.
How long does everyones engine cooling fans stay on for after the ignition has been turned off? My fans spin at FULL whack for at least 10-15 minutes after the ignition is turned off.
I have been having an issue with my battery draining since I bought the car ( a few days ago). It seems to have an intermittent problem, no doubt I need to replace my battery, but for now I topped up the distilled water, and ran the car for a few hours and it seemed to solve the problem.
But today I tried solving the dumb Alfa 'stereo not turning off when you turn the ignition off' problem, therefore had the new radio on/off/on/off for about 5- 10 minutes whilst the car was not started, at the same time as those engine fans where spinning furiously, then all of a sudden the car runs out of battery again and now I cannot start it!
It is not normal for a car to lose its battery this quickly, over such a small 'charge of power usage' being drained...
How long should the twin engine fans run for after the ignition is turned off, and at what speed... I've never heard engine fans spin so loudly when the engine is turned off (although I know some cars to let the fans spin if the temperature of the engine is high enough... Mine was not, it was only a short drive).
