Front Brake imbalance?
Hello Everyone. I have a braking fault which is sending me mad! I bought a 147 with a snapped belt and replaced the engine and all is well car runs grand. The problem is its up for MOT on monday and i have a massive front break imbalance. The car sat up for a while when it snapped a belt so i thought prob a seized caliper etc.
I have Fitted new discs and pads to the front, checked the caliper pistons are free, checked the caliper pads and slides are working freely, but still no difference. I then put two new front flexiables on to rule them out. The car is swerving heavily to the right so its the left hand caliper thats not braking correctly. I took the original steel pipe off from the abs unit to the flexiable and its grand as i blew through it incase it was kinked.
I am now at my witts end, i believe its either the master cylinder or ABS unit has a stuck valve.
Has anyone any ideas?, Also there is a poor fluid flow to the left hand caliper when you slacken it very little fluid comes out compared to the right hand only comes out when pumping the pedal hard!. I measured brake tempatures after a thrashing and the left was 160 degress compared to 400 degress right hand.
Any help or ideas greatly appreciated as the cars due test on monday morning and i fear i have left it too late...............
