I've used a K&N57i kit on my 155 Silverstone. I don't rate it. It was really noisy and the positioning of this particular kit meant it did pull in nice warm air. The car didn't pull as well low down, at the top end it felt better, but that may have been because the bottom end was rubbish.
Doesn't the stock 156 TS airbox have a kinda cone filter inside anyway ?? I saw an airbox from a 2.0litre TS 156 sitting in a shed the other day and it had what looked like a cone filter going into it.
I don't think you'll notice much power difference, just an increase in induction roar. Get the right setup and it'll sound glorious. I have the Green Cotton induction kit on my V6. Probably no more power, but it sounds nice. Also this kit places the cone filter down into the gap left by the OE airbox and is actually shielded from the engines heat.
