(Famous last words.....) My GT is on 68K miles and going strong.
I came from a 159 to the GT, a very different car in almost all respects.
Issues that annoy me or have had to had sorted on my car in the last 8K miles:
Cam belt/water pump done early as didn't fancy a snapped cambelt.
Two upper arms changed, suspension components do seem a tad fragile.
Siliconed all the interior joints and locks/hinges, the squeaks drove me mad!
Re-set the windows a few times, slight drop when closing the door.
Lower Intercooler hose replaced as the stupid earth cable had rubbed a hole in it, moved now so no further probs.
Lubed all door handles to try and stop them becoming stiff and snapping.
Changed all wheel bolts for chrome capped 166 bolts as the GT ones were rusty.
Added an ipod connector.
Changed wiper blades and rainex the screen to stop the judder.
Re-seated and re-damped the rear parcel shelf, rattle like a frigger!
So, a few issues, but then I am a little OCD on my cars.
Reasons to buy:
Just look at it!
Handling is superb, even for a FWD. Q2 is lower and stiffer than standard, but standard spec is great.
Seats are brilliant, comfortable and supportive.
It feels so special.
A proper 4 seater and large boot.
Diesel economy is pretty good.
Oomph from the diesel works well on the chassis and handling, and thats from someone who doesn't actually like diesels!
Rarity value. Why drive a eurobox or a germanic dull mobile when you can have one of these!?!?
Think you will find quite a few options at that age and mileage. Try these folk, I have had my last 2 Alfas from them:
Second City Motor Company, hand picked quality used Convertible, Sports and Prestige Vehicles
Have fun finding the right one for you, then enjoy!
