Motor Control System Failure warning light on my GT V6
This is my first thread so any advice would be much appreciated!!
I've recently bought a 2005 Alfa GT 3.2V6 (which I've fallen in love with already...and is now the second of its type in our family!!) however the dreaded electrics have already come to bite me!
The 'motor control system failure' warning light has come on, which I believe to be a common problem in these, so I am just after a bit of advice to make sure I've covered every base before I take it in to the dealer.
Reading through the various threads on here, I think it will either be the MAF sensor or the battery.
The warning light came on about a week ago and hasn't gone off since. The car seems to be running fine, doesn't seem at all underpowered or anything, however it will occasionally stutter on tick over. Also, the fuel gauge no longer works when the engine is running (it works when the ignition is on however once the engine is running the fuel gauge and the consumption figures on the trip computer no longer function).
I have tried disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes, reconnecting, locking/alarming the car, leaving for a couple of minutes then starting it up as this was recommended to me, however that doesn't seem to have solved the problem.
Apologies if I'm rambling on, but as i said...first thread!
Hope you guys can help me. thanks.
