1.9JTDm aux belt question

I'm in the process of buying all the parts required for a cambelt replacement and plan to change the aux belt in the process.

My question is, do i also need to replace the aux belt pre-tensioner & idler pulley? For info i have not experienced any odd noises from these so believe they are OK however the car has nearly hit 70K miles since the last replacement.

Whats the recommended practice?

When I did my 20v I changed the lot on both belts. I understand that the 16v aux tensioner is not expensive like the 20v so perhaps not such a hard decision in your case. Trouble is both belts run close together so if the aux belt/tensioner fails then it could strip off the timing belt as well. My service history shows the aux belt tensioner being replaced 1 year after the timimg belt was changed. Its a pain getting access to change the belts on these cars so seems false economy not to for me. I should now be OK for 5 years
