I had just had a Gearbox and New clutch fitted and thought it was a problem with that when I broke down as I had only had it back 1 day.
They pointed out the sheered water pump and advised that as this had caused the cambelt to jump there would be damage to the pots. I advised then that I had only had the Water pump done some 15 months prior and would contact the garage that did the work as this was a parts failure and should be covered outside the 12 months.
I was further advised that the water pump was not a direct Alfa part nor was the Cambelt
Upon calling the Alfa garage that did the original work, he queried the tow fee but said he would cover it after he had seen the damage caused. This had changed when I went to pick up the car today.
Was thinking of putting a small claims in to County Court and not messing around with CAB .
Both garages are Alfa affiliated
