I migth add that fitting bigger ARB's to the FSD/Pro-Kit combo, only seemed to amplify the problem of "Floating" front end and slow damper response in tight "S" bends. Defintely less grip when cornering, and more understeer.
I've had several customers wanting to buy the bigger ARB from us, whom i adviced against fitting them because they had FSD's with Lowering Springs. I know at least one of them was an active AO member. I say this to make it clear that i have no commercial interests in speaking against FSD's. I also enjoy fine tuning the suspension of my own Alfa's and taking them to the Track.
In my experience, the only really good soloution when it comes to getting comfort close to original suspension, plus good sporty handling at the same time, is by fitting two way or three way adjustable coilovers, and not go crazy on the lowering / size of alloys.
Fitting Sports dampers and Sports Springs with loweing, , is always going to be a compromise. The best you can hope for is a good balanced kit which feels "very firm" and not crashy or uncomforatble on the average road surface.
What usually eases the transition when going from standard to sports suspension, is that most go from worn (or even defective) dampers and springs, to a brand new Sports supension. This is why the percieved loss of comfort is not always that noticeable.
