After my local dealership could not figure out what was wrong with my clutch for 3.5 days it was revealed in a 30 second phone call this morning.
Of course the 1st part was the good side to the story.... " We will be replacing your clutch bearings under warranty but then
Your clutch is warn and will have to be replaced this WILL NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY!
44,900Km of driving and my clutch is a goner I just don't see how.
What makes me laugh is they will replace the seals and the bearings of the clutch but not clutch itself.
I,m not a person to "ride the clutch" (what ever that means) I don't down downshift a gear heavy and make it rev hard, the only thing I can put it down to is local city driving.
At least 40,000Km was just pure city start and stop driving but still to me it does not make any sense.
Does a selespeed clutch wear out quicker then a normal manual ?
Is there more pressure put on a selespeed clutch as things are automated ?
Are they prone to excessive wear in city use compared to manual clutches ?
