156 2.4 jtd Gerabox dosent want to come off
Ok. I finally plucked up the courage to change the clutch in my '02 2.4 10V JTD SW. Its mapped and the previous owner told me it would need doing sooner rather than later. Ive managed to nurse it along for 8 10 months but its a pain not being able to drive it the way its meant to be driven.
Thanks to trawling the treads here and a quick ebay purchase of a manual and off i went armed with the knowledge.
stripped everything off, unbolted all the bolts that needed (i sure there are none left around the bell housing etc) and started seperating the box from the engine.
This is where im stuck. It comes apart a little and then springs back.
Is this due to the pull type clutch/release bearing arangement in these and is it a case of brute force and engineering or is there a knack...
