V6 GT - damaged radiator & rusty bottom hose
Clare & her GT had to be rescued by the last Wednesday. Basically, the rad got damaged by a stone or something & it lost coolant.
I've ordered a new rad from EB Spares (£115 + vat & delivery) but at the last MOT, it was noted that the rigid metal hose was rusting and could do with changing so we may as well kill two birds with one stone.
EB Spares say this is a dealer only part so any idea of the part number / cost?
Interestingly, the temp gauge stayed on 90 degrees as normal. Clare noticed something was up as the fans were on full tilt and the aircon got warm. She had the presence of mind to turn the car off but why did the gauge not flag a warning
The rad was patched by the AA using some form of cement directly into the radiator and in fairness, the AA chap followed her home for 30 odd miles, stopping 3 times to check the level
It's not lost anything since the patch but we've not driven it.
