Should the temperature be the same in diesel engines? I have a 156 JTD m-jet 16V y.2005. Without straining the engine the temp gauge moves around 60°c, allmost never breaks the 70 mark. Even sitting in traffic it only climbs to 70. When I push it for a few minutes, say a mountain pass or sth, it rises to 90, maybe 95. Haven't checked it with FES yet.
When I had a Fiat Stilo JTD, the temp was 90°c all the time. Guess something isn't working the way it should (thermostate probably), but can this cause any damage to the engine or can the car live with it?
The gauge looks like this: Starts with 50, 90 in the middle, 130 at the extreme end.
