Today my 147 2.0 petrol hardly wanted to move, I could put it in second, foot down hard and from 1500 to 3000 revs it takes ages - you could sit there, arms crossed, tapping feet, checking watch waiting for the damn variator to do the business and even then it's lost it's sparkle.
There is nothing I can put my finger on, she has just lost the crisp sharp, quickness of old.
I unplugged the maf and it made no difference at all, surprisingly unlike previous times it even idled fine just the same as with the maf plugged in - where before it would cough, splutter and die - obviously I got the mcsf light due to unplugging the maf but it took longer to warn me than I would normally expect.
No warning lights etc however the dash has been moaning about a few spurious issues like the left offside sidelight blown when it's not, it complained about low brake fluid when it's fine.
Probably not related but my power steering has been very heavy today as well.
I posted in another thread but it's worth adding here my 147 misfires very slightly at idle when warm in a pulsating, rhythmic kind of fashion - not just rough, it does have kind of an on/off rhythm to it.
My belts where done a couple years ago at Jamie Porter's aka AlfaWorkshop so I don't doubt that they where done spot on - anything else I can look into?
I haven't changed the airfilter in ages but recently pulled the plugs and gave them a clean, they were in excellent condition.
Did notice a break in the coilpack on the cylinder closest the the cambelts.
Will hook up with Alfadiag tomorrow but not expecting to read many errors as I check fairly regular.
Ideas and suggestions welcome (starting with the cheapest
