Hmmm Where are all the Alfas?

Just back from two weeks holiday in Tuscany and Lake Garda, total number of GT's spotted - 6, 156's - about 20. BMW - about 5000, Mercedes - about 3000. (The last two are guesses!). I see more GT's on a typical day in Cardiff.

I did see nice show of ex racing Alfa saloons, 75's, 155's etc and a beautiful (if that's the right word for the beast) SZ on display in a lake side car park in Garda. There were also a couple of Lancia Delta HF Integrale's.

There were a few more 159's about but even they were few and far between.

I was surprised as well, particularly with the lack of Mitos and current Guiliettas.in my stay just outside Milan, I seemed to see mostly Citroens and Hondas. When I questioned my Italian hosts about this I was told "We buy Citroens and Hondas because they cost less"

Italians buy more (like double) Lancias than Alfas

Alfa = Stunning

Many other cars = "meh..."

Ever noticed the condition of cars abroad - I was in Rome in March and I remember seeing someone using the front bumper of a mini (pretty new one at that) as a buffer - granted, that's what bumpers are for but I would not be happy to come back and see scuffs like that on my paint!

Alfa = too pretty to see wrecked by someone doing this!
