156 leaking fluid

Hello everyone, I'm quite new to this forum. My 156 2.0 Selespeed got a 77000 mile engine swap a month ago. All major belts were replaced including the clutch. The problem when i'm driving it there is a sound like a razor scrapping that comes for about 5 seconds and goes. Just yesterday whilst driving in city mode its jumpy when overtaking or coming off traffic lights. I checked and topped the selespeed fluid and brake fluid. The brake fluid reservoir was empty so i topped up but when i checked 30 minutes later it was empty and i found a split hose on the driver's side that connects to something that looks like a cylinder or pump, Could this be the problem please help the job last month cost me 1400.
