Do you guys have a regime?

I've not had a 'nice' car before and I'm fully aware you gotta care for alfas a bit more.

Do you guys have a regime of how to care for your car? Even if it's not stuff you do to combat problems but just stuff you do to keep it nice etc.... I'm interested.
With my last car I just couldn't be arsed but I want to get in the correct mindset to continue enjoying the drive in this car to it's maximum and to avoid disappointments.

The guy I bought mine from said to open the windows all the way and then back up once a week for example.

Obviously check oil and water super often......

I can recommend all the Meguiar's car products to keep everything clean and shiny. Their website has loads of videos and tutorials about cleaning waxing and polishing your Bella Alfa. Lots of good stuff from Autoglym as well, and they are both at Halfrauds, if you have one nearby.
If you want to become OCD about car care, try the detailing websites, especially here: - Detailing World - - A world for detailers by detailers. you will see what a bit of time and effort can produce, even with the most unpromising vehicle.
The best bit on my 147 is the little sticker on the windscreen in front my eyes telling you about the strong racing heritage and check the oil and don't go mental until the temps are up and stable!
Look after your Bella and she will reward you with the great Alfa driving experience!

I'm a member on detailing world but I find it a bit scary to be honest.

My regime involves fairly regular cleaning (which no other car of mine has ever had), an oil change every 6k and fixing anything that's broken. I don't check the oil weekly these days as I'm only doing 50-60 miles a week and it doesn't use any.

Apart from the washing, it gets treated the same as every other car I've had. It's an Alfa but it's still a car. Keep an eye on fluid levels, keep on top of the servicing and just enjoy it.

They are no worse than any other brand in my experience but like any other brand they need maintenance, especially when they are over 5 years old, new belts etc every 3 years, oil and filter pref every 6 months, underside inspection pref summer, i remove all arch liners and wash under before a dose of wayoyl or similar.
I also clean suspension once a year and spray with silicone maintenance oil as a preventative procedure, it seems to work because so far i have had no mot failures on my Alfa's.
A good wax once a month if poss and thats it really, worth the time and effort imo, and the best part is the driving, ciao

....checking the oil and checking the bonnet is shut correctly will soon become obsessive compulsive behaviour
