I'm considering buying a demo Alfa GT diesel (300 miles on the clock) at £1000 discount. How much do you all think I can expect to get from Alfa for my used 156? It's a Jan 2001 X plate, 2 litre TS, metallic silver, Tourismo spec (aircon, CD player, 15" alloys), 68000 miles, 1 owner from new, full ARSH, excellent condition inside and out. Cambelt was changed at 60000 miles.
Parkers suggests just £5500, but given I'm buying another Alfa, I'm hoping to push for more.....
Normally private you could get about 15-20% more than a dealer. So if you don't want the hassle of selling private then you should push for as much as you can. After which - try to get extras like new mats (if it doesn't have any at the moment) etc, however - in my experience they don't budge much on extras.
I think you might be struggling to be honest. As far as I know the GT's are good sellers so he doesn't need to discount it much, where as there are loads of 156's for sale. I just bought a 156 S/W 2.4 JTD on a 2001/Y plate for £4000!!!
I'd definately push for more. We got our pre-registered GT with 49 miles on the clock with metallic and leather for £21k, thats nearly £1500 off list.
