JTS and Torque for Android
Yes, yet another one. Reminded by recent threads, I did a search but all I found was people with diesels - and me using someone else's thread to ask this question in April. No answer and this is still clear as mud to me.
I have a 2005 156 JTS. My vague understanding is the 156 originally had the connector but not the proper software interface - FES is bespoke software. I believe that at some point, in order to continue selling even existing models, all manufacturers had to sort proper EOBD connectivity, and so my car should have it. Is this true?
Next, does Torque even work with EOBD rather than just OBD-II?
If so, what Bluetooth adapter and cables etc will I need?
Finally, is Torque actually worth bothering with? I don't have a serviceable laptop else I'd go with that and the wired approach.
